about

Koreyo Dub is the third single off an upcoming EP on INI Movement. It was made in Ngalah’s hometown and features sounds recorded at Siaya’s noisy marketplace and his mother's church service. The lyrics were inspired by a chant he would sing as a kid during high school sports day.

The video visualizes this using a unique dance choreography and colorful elements. It showcases a clash between tradition and contemporary culture.

Ngalah Oreyo is a Kenyan musician and singer. Born in the western county of Siaya and raised in the slums of Mathare (Nairobi), Ngalah has played a key part in the East African music scene for the past 15 years.

Growing up in the slums of Nairobi, music whas all around. After Ngalah’s uncle introduced him to the vibrant club culture, his interest in making music took flight. At the age of 20, he founded Yunasi, one of Africa's leading Afro-fusion bands. The band quickly established itself in the international music scene, performing at some of the biggest festivals and venues across the globe from Australia to Thailand and the United Kingdom. In 2007, Yunasi won the BBC’s The Next Big Thing award.

From 2019, he released several singles as part of his Color Clash project, merging Kenya's traditional music and instruments with electronics and art.
